It’s okay if you are feeling anxious about the news. Feeling anxious about what you’re seeing on the news right now is a perfectly normal emotional response. The news at the moment is upsetting and scary. How you feel right now is valid. During times like this, it’s important that you do what you can to look after yourself. Here is some advice: 1/ Talk to someone you trust While it is normal to feel worried, if you are starting to feel overwhelmed, it’s important to acknowledge your feelings and speak to someone you trust, whether that’s a friend, a family member, a teacher or a helpline 2/ Don’t over expose yourself to the news Do take a break from social media if you feel like the updates are getting too much. Remember you are in control of what you see on your feed. Take breaks when you do feel like things are getting too much or mute and unfollow accounts that make you feel more worried 3/ Find things that help you feel calm Think about some activities that can help when you are feeling overwhelmed, like breathing techniques, writing down how you feel, playing music or talking to a friend Share this post with your child, and visit our website for more advice on how to cope with how you are feeling. Thank you for this. This is what I have learnt from my Solution Focused Hypnotherapy Training: Anxiety can be our imagination being used to look at the negatives. This is normal as we have evolved this way. We can turn this imagination to the positive by rewiring our brains with relaxation and positive language. Take a look at this 2 minute video on neuroplascity. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELpfYCZa87g

Personally I know adults who would also benefit from reading and reminding themselves of this too. 🙏
